Platforms normalise what you upload. If your file arrives far from their target, it is turned up or down on the way in — and anything you did to make it loud is undone, sometimes badly.

Loudness is the final pass. The audio stays lossless through the whole chain and is encoded once at the end, so normalising does not mean decoding and re-encoding a file that has already been through three other tools.
